sunday, april 18

little eva's baby dedication. walter and emily have found a great church for them and the kids, and we have had the privilege of attending a few times now. we were thankful to be in town for eva's dedication and look forward to watching her continue to grow.

saturday, april 17

part a:
miles & joe's birthday party! it was only the most happening star wars 4- and 2-year old birthday party ever. zach and erin did a great job turning the entire house and backyard into a giant star wars world.

part b:
not to take away from the birthday party, but i did have to recognize the fact that i FINISHED THE RESEARCH PROJECT and mailed it off. here is the finished project all bound and copied. i also wanted to include a shot of the thickness to give a little better insight into just how much work this was. so, so thankful it is finished.

friday, april 16

it seems that on every visit to calhoun, we find a new addition to the tree house that walter and jonah have built. in the beginning, the base just sort of existed by itself for a while. later, the awesome walls, windows, and door were added and it became a pretty legit treehouse. now, there is a roof which provides for a nice ledge for nerf gun shooting, escape from hannah (the dog), and more.

here, walter and lee were enjoying a post-dinner hangout on the newfound perch.

thursday, april 15

tax day!

yes, we waited until the last minute. we debated on paying someone to do our taxes, and then we realized turbo tax would do just as well and cost us much less. lee worked insanely hard on completing our taxes. unfortunately, we did wind up having to mail them in instead of filing electronically, but that is ok. i got them to the post office with plenty of time to spare.

monday, april 12

- wednesday, april 14...

all i did every waking moment (and many more waking moments than i wished to have) was work on my research project. therefore, no extra time to take pictures. most of you who see any status updates of mine know this was insanely time-consuming. one giant procrastination? perhaps. what can i say? some of my best school work has come at the last minute!

pictures of the finished project will come later.

sunday, april 11

i learned to play disc golf today!

saturday, april 10

daniel and anna marr's wedding in college station, tx. several of our friends were in town, and lee got to catch up with a lot of old friends as well.

(picture now here :) )

friday, april 9

this caused me to be to late to work. if you cannot tell, it is smoke coming from a car that was on fire. we were much more concerned with whoever may have once been inside the car than being late to work though. we actually saw the flames before we got close enough to get this shot. so, so scary

thursday, april 8

lee's first church softball game!

like my new purse?

tuesday, april 6

this might be our second box of girl scout cookies this year... :)

monday, april 5

in case you were not aware, starburst jelly beans are by far the best jelly beans ever. but they ONLY come out at Easter time...so, so sad. this bowl was halfway full at one point. lee also agrees they are the best.

sunday, april 4

the series of events that turned into the best family Easter picture ever:

saturday, april 3

if you look closely, you can see a mama duck sitting on her nest underneath the monkey grass. my grandmother noticed the duck when she accidentally almost stepped on it a few days earlier. apparently, the mama duck needed to get away from the pond and find somewhere safe for her babies to hatch. she also hissed at me when i took this picture...

friday, april 2

springtime in prattville, alabama:my parents really do have almost every flower, plant, and tree imaginable in their yard

thursday, april 1

oh, this place was my main (and sometimes only) source of "vegetables" during my college years. my mom would often remind me that mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and fried okra are not exactly the healthiest vegetables available, but more often than not, they were the closest i got to anything resembling vegetables (especially when i lived in the dorm).

my sweet friend, caitlin, shared a wonderful and long-overdue city cafe lunch with me while we were in tuscaloosa. so, so good.

wednesday, march 31

good ol' hobby airport....thanks for giving us a couple of extra hours with you before we could leave and head to alabama because a southwest plane was "broken" due to a dent from a bird on the right wing. i promise, i do not make these things up.

tuesday, march 30

family circle has become a favorite magazine of mine, not because we have a huge family or anything, but because it has awesome recipes (with nutrional facts) and some cute home-decorating ideas. at some point a few months ago, i signed up for a couple of free issues. little did i know, the free issues simply compile of old articles from magazines i already have. lame!

monday, march 29

i have yet to show off my awesome pedicure, but it is quite fabulous so it should not be left off of the 365 blog!

sunday, march 28

little emily's baptism in college station. a great time for lee to catch up with old friends and a sweet service for the ottinger's

saturday, march 27

i know you've seen this one, but she is so adorable that she must be seen again. emily's disinterest in the baseball game around her is nothing compared to her cuteness

friday, march 26

this one goes out to some of my most dedicated readers:

ellie insisted on sitting in the carseat to avoid sitting in the back seat by herself, so here she is! so proud of herself! :)

thursday, march 25

lee got a new toy! now that it is spring, lee's free time consists of baseball and golf. he is improving his game and enjoying his new club.

wednesday, march 24

there are days like today that make teaching worth it. wouldn't this make your day too?

tuesday, march 22

as unimportant as this picture may look, it is actually a lesson in photography by one of my co-workers. one of these days, there will be awesome shots here on the 365...the ones you see of cars at night as a blur of lines on the road or a picture of the moon that shows its details instead of just looking like a bright ball. one day...
