tuesday, december 29

to pass the time until eva came, we jumped on the trampoline as long as we possibly could...
and then, she arrived!

monday, december 28

my first bowl game! unfortunately, it was not the aggies' day...

sunday, december 27

we were able to bring our wedding album home with us! by no one's fault but my own, it was a bit late coming in, but we have it for now and forever to enjoy.

saturday, december 26

everyone comes together for mexican food!

* some of the following pictures will be repeats from our blog so just enjoy them a second time, please :) *

friday, december 25

it is not just lee who likes to make picture-taking moments more interesting...

thursday, december 24

this is what i get 95% of the time when i try to take a picture with my husband. thankfully, he eventually cooperates and we get good pictures (the better one of this shot is in the christmas post from our blog).

Christmas eve: everyone picks a spot around the room, we take turns opening presents, and laugh every moment along the way.

wednesday, december 23

these two girls are some of my oldest friends. i am so thankful to still have such strong and special friendships as the ones with these girls. i love the times we get to catch up!

tuesday, december 22

i love this place so much.

monday, december 21

in case you have never been, iguana grill in tuscaloosa (and birmingham) is one of the best mexican restaurants around. we enjoy it so much we made it one of our stops while in tusclaoosa during the Christmas holidays. this is me, coriell, and ginger via the iphone :)

sunday, december 20

in case you did not know, these are two pretty great guys :)

saturday, december 19

happy birthday asher!

and, merry christmas from calhoun, la!

friday, december 18

this picture does not do just to the insane amount of STUFF we have packed into our car for our 10+ day Christmas travels, but maybe it gives you some idea. just please notice that bags and jackets begin immediately behind the front seats and suitcases and wrapping paper are piled to the back door. just call us crazy...

thursday, december 17

we decided to exchange semi-homemade/creative gifts as couples in lee's family this year for Christmas. i spent a couple of nights painting these as our gifts to his siblings and their spouses. i am such a perfectionist when it comes to tasks like this. it is absurd. however, they all seemed excited about their paintings so i hope they really do like them. please know i do not expect you to be able to notice the full details of the paintings (due to my lack of photography skills).

wednesday, december 16

gotta love grade deadlines. this is what we both do the night before our grades are due for report cards. oh, the life of a teacher...

tuesday, december 15

don't you wish you were one of our co-workers??? :) if you were, you would have received this awesome Christmas gift!

monday, december 14

hooray for ornaments!!!!

we continued our theme of red and silver ornaments and added all the sentimental ornaments we received last year.

a mighty fine-looking tree, if i do say so myself :)

sunday, december 13

a work in progress...

saturday, december 12

the Christmas tree at the galleria :) it is difficult to see, but there was even an artificial snow machine blowing "snow" over the tree and ice-skating rink while people shopped and skated. in the middle of a hectic, busy shopping mall, an area like this makes everyone stop and smile.

friday, december 11

this house and its neighborhood take Christmas decorating to an entirely new level. each street has its own theme...we saw a charlie brown-themed street, frosty the snowman, the texas 'twas the night before christmas, the nativity story, and more.

this house stood out among the rest though. wow. i mean wow.

thursday, december 10

our stockings :)

i love our stockings. it took a while to find the right ones last year, but i am really glad we went with these. i do wish we had a mantle to hang them from this year like we did last year, but i suppose our counter that opens into our living room will do. enjoy!

wednesday, december 9

we finally bought our Christmas tree! but.....we did not get it decorated...yet!

tuesday, december 8

for our first Christmas, we had only been married a month so i opted out of Christmas cards. however, this year i was ready for the task. lee even lucked out and did not have to take a new picture because we used one from our honeymoon last year.

the first batch of cards went out this week! now i just have to buy more stamps for the rest :)

monday, december 7

we FINALLY got our Christmas decorations out!!!! (disclaimer: most of this week's pictures will be our decorations until the process is complete.)

our nativity: actually made from wood from The Holy Land...

sunday, december 6

story of our lives the past few weeks:we have done (and will do) more traveling through the months of november and december than we ever thought possible. life throws you curves, but thankfully we have a God who takes care of us and has provided us with the means to make these trips and be with those we love when we needed to be there.

saturday, december 5

i wanted to share with you a special and recently-acquired possession of mine:my grandmother asked if lee and i would like a plant to take home that had been a gift to her in memory of my grandfather. i was honored at the request and picked the only i think i even have a chance of keeping alive. i do not have very good luck with plants, particularly remembering to water them, but i was told this would be a pretty easy, low-maintenance plant so here goes nothing!

friday, december 4

so, i am slightly cheating on this one and including a picture that i did not actually take. because we were in alabama this weekend, we missed the crazy houston snow of 2009. however, one of the teachers at my school sent this picture out for everyone to have. it is really too great of a shot for me to pass up, but please know, using other people's pictures will not become a habit of mine on this blog :)

wednesday, december 2

i have become quite the expert traveler. i can pack and get it all in carry-on luggage with the best of them.

monday, november 30/tuesday, december 1/thursday, december 3

please excuse the early lapse in pictures. anyone who has found this blog knows us, reads our other blog, and knows that time with my family has been more precious than remembering to take photos.

sunday, november 29

this is how we grocery shop. you are welcome, earth...we shop green :)

saturday, november 28

check out baby eva's loot from the shower we had for emily and eva. so many sweet family and friends came out to show their love for the soon-to-arrive newest addition of our family. baby eva, we can't wait to meet you!

friday, november 27

asher, where's your belly button?

(fun times at erin & zach's house during thanksgiving break)

thursday, november 26

happy thanksgiving!

a special day calls for a double dose of family pictures. what better way to kick off thanksgiving day than by jumping on the trampoline with your uncle and cousins, and then enjoying an annual family football game!?

wednesday, november 25

happy birthday sam!

thanksgiving and christmas are even better in the pilgreen family because of two special little boys' birthdays. sam got loaded up with some star wars toys and games. then, he topped off the celebration with a birthday cupcake.

keep making us laugh, sam! we love you!

tuesday, november 24

praise the lord for thanksgiving break! we were so excited to hang our school badges on the mirror tuesday afternoon to not have to put them back on until monday morning.

p.s.- i already almost forgot the second day of the 365 days (great start, right?), so technically this was not taken the day it is meant for, but i posted it because i meant to take this picture actually on tuesday.

monday, november 23

an exciting first picture, right?!

hey, life isn't always exciting. having lunch at school everyday, however, is quite exciting...particularly when i am already starving by 10:30 everyday. every night one of us gets out all of the tupperware containers (environmental friendly!) and makes lunches for the next day.

peanut-butter and jelly sandwiches beat cafeteria lunches anyday.

what is the point of this?

some of you who eventually find your way over to this blog may be wondering why i started something like this.

and that is an excellent question!

i have seen the idea on several popular blogs i read, and i thought it would be a fun project. many people have commented on those blogs that the original idea was great, they even stayed pretty consistent for the first few months, but inevitably gave up because they got too far behind.

i cannot promise that will not happen for me, but i definitely going to try my hardest to keep it up all year long. in the end, it will be a lot of fun and a special way to look back on this past year.

i would also like to point out that i am not doing this by a calendar full year (january-december), but instead, i thought i would document our second year of marriage.

enjoy the journey with me, if you so choose. check as often as you like. i may not update everyday, but i do plan to take pictures everyday so i will date them accordingly.
