little eva's baby dedication. walter and emily have found a great church for them and the kids, and we have had the privilege of attending a few times now. we were thankful to be in town for eva's dedication and look forward to watching her continue to grow.

part a:
miles & joe's birthday party! it was only the most happening star wars 4- and 2-year old birthday party ever. zach and erin did a great job turning the entire house and backyard into a giant star wars world.
part b:
not to take away from the birthday party, but i did have to recognize the fact that i FINISHED THE RESEARCH PROJECT and mailed it off. here is the finished project all bound and copied. i also wanted to include a shot of the thickness to give a little better insight into just how much work this was. so, so thankful it is finished.

it seems that on every visit to calhoun, we find a new addition to the tree house that walter and jonah have built. in the beginning, the base just sort of existed by itself for a while. later, the awesome walls, windows, and door were added and it became a pretty legit treehouse. now, there is a roof which provides for a nice ledge for nerf gun shooting, escape from hannah (the dog), and more.
here, walter and lee were enjoying a post-dinner hangout on the newfound perch.

tax day!
yes, we waited until the last minute. we debated on paying someone to do our taxes, and then we realized turbo tax would do just as well and cost us much less. lee worked insanely hard on completing our taxes. unfortunately, we did wind up having to mail them in instead of filing electronically, but that is ok. i got them to the post office with plenty of time to spare.

- wednesday, april 14...
all i did every waking moment (and many more waking moments than i wished to have) was work on my research project. therefore, no extra time to take pictures. most of you who see any status updates of mine know this was insanely time-consuming. one giant procrastination? perhaps. what can i say? some of my best school work has come at the last minute!
pictures of the finished project will come later.

if you look closely, you can see a mama duck sitting on her nest underneath the monkey grass. my grandmother noticed the duck when she accidentally almost stepped on it a few days earlier. apparently, the mama duck needed to get away from the pond and find somewhere safe for her babies to hatch. she also hissed at me when i took this picture...

oh, this place was my main (and sometimes only) source of "vegetables" during my college years. my mom would often remind me that mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and fried okra are not exactly the healthiest vegetables available, but more often than not, they were the closest i got to anything resembling vegetables (especially when i lived in the dorm).
my sweet friend, caitlin, shared a wonderful and long-overdue city cafe lunch with me while we were in tuscaloosa. so, so good.

family circle has become a favorite magazine of mine, not because we have a huge family or anything, but because it has awesome recipes (with nutrional facts) and some cute home-decorating ideas. at some point a few months ago, i signed up for a couple of free issues. little did i know, the free issues simply compile of old articles from magazines i already have. lame!

as unimportant as this picture may look, it is actually a lesson in photography by one of my co-workers. one of these days, there will be awesome shots here on the 365...the ones you see of cars at night as a blur of lines on the road or a picture of the moon that shows its details instead of just looking like a bright ball. one day...
