sunday, october 3

last game of baseball season: cubs vs. astros at minute maid park. both teams seemed pretty content with the fact that their frustrating seasons were coming to a close. i played around with the "hipstimatic" app on my phone as i took some ballpark shots...i pass a lot of time at baseball games with taking pictures :)

saturday, october 2

daniel tosh is one of the funniest comedians around. his show tosh.0 is great. we were lucky enough to see his show in person and have an awesome friend like katy to go with (and pay for the tickets).

friday, october 1

buying a new car proved even more beneficial when the battery in the jeep decided to die on us at pei wei. thankfully, we have wonderful family friends like the morrows who are willing to give us a ride home even though the walk was not quite impossible. we were relieved to still have a mode of transportation even with the jeep temporarily out of commission.

*no picture of the dead jeep unfortunately.

i think i am even more proud of my cheerleaders when they are performing in front of more than just their small freshmen football game crowds. they performed a cheer with the jv squad at our pep rally in front of a large crowd of students, teachers, and coaches. way to go, girls!

wednesday, september 29

our first cold snap of the year came with a crisp upper-40s temp for my drive to school. if only it had stayed until spring...

tuesday, september 28

fall decorations came out in our apartment this week! thanks again to my aunt for the decor. this a glimpse of the added color to our living room.

monday, september 27

today, lee's students learned about the process of how milk goes from cows to our local grocery stores. lee said it was a thrilling presentation.

sunday, september 26

we discovered the amazing meal that is turkey burgers with homemade guacamole. between the two of us, we make a pretty awesome meal of burgers and homemade fries. yum, yum.

saturday, september 25

i made homemade biscuits for the first time. technically, they were not completely homemade because i did use bisquick mix, but it was the first time i had ever made biscuits not out of a can. they were a little thin but still tasty! plus, the only cutters i have are fall-shaped so we ate pumpkin, acorn, and leaf-shaped biscuits.

even though the quality is terrible, this picture still gives some idea toward the beautiful sunrises i get to see everyday on the way to work. this is really the only positive aspect of waking up and driving to work as early as i have to so i try to enjoy it the best i can.
